Just a few quotes from people that have now become friends as well as clients. I am honoured to have helped them. Please be aware that none of the conditions mentioned have been treated without the full support of the person’s GP and if you are concerned about health issues your GP should be the first point of call.

I was a year from retiring when my back started causing me problems.   I knew it was wear and tear from a manual job for many years. I saw Joan for that last year of working. She choose a combination of aromatherapy oils to ease the arthritis pain and improve the blood supply to the area and keep the muscles around the joints as supple as possible. My back problem is never going to go away but I was able to remain in full time employment until I wanted to retire and not have to retire due to my bad back. Now I’m not putting so much stress on the problem area I only see Joan about one a month to keep the muscles supple.

I never really understood why I felt so guilty about disliking my mother until I explored some kinesiology techniques Joan used. It was quite a painful process but with patience and support I got through it and now feel much better.

Following the birth of my third child a strange condition I had started to experience after the birth of my first child became almost unbearable. The soles of my feet would feel as though they were on fire. My doctor was unable to help so a friend suggested seeing Joan. After just one reflexology treatment the problem started to reduce and by the fourth session I was feeling fine.

We had been trying for a baby for over a year with no success. About to embark on IVF I decided to try complementary therapies before taking the plunge with IVF. I was first. attracted to Joan as she explained that she did not work with one modality but looked at the whole person and worked with them using kinesiology to balance and check hormone levels etc, then reflexology and aromatherapy to improve body function and help with stress. I guess I can never say for sure it was the treatments that helped me to fall pregnant but I believe it did.

As a deputy head teacher I did not have time to deal with menopause symptoms when my GP told me I had to reduce the HRT I was taking. I started seeing Joan who recommended a combination of treatments to ease the transition. I had back massage using oils to balance my hormones and reflexology to enhance the treatment. I am now 6 years further on with my life having gradually come off the HRT with Joan’s help using homeopathy, aromatherapy and reflexology.

I pop in every so often to have my ankles sorted. I am a professional referee and prior to this played football for years so my ankles have been injured many times. Usually I have a combination of deep tissure massage on legs and my ankles need a lot of manipulation. Joan uses essential oils and also a pen that has a laser in it to improve the function of body tissue and speed healing.

I felt hateful and bad tempered all the time yet I had no reason to be. I missed the children who had both left home but I was happily married to a man who cared for me and I had no money concerns yet still I could not explain my current bad moods. The doctor had offered me HRT and other drugs like antidepressants but I didn’t feel I needed them. A glass of wine improved my mood but sometimes kept me awake at night so I decided to seek help. Joan spent ages on the phone with me talking about the psychological effects the menopause can have on women. You often read about the obvious ones like hot flushes, even joke about them but nobody had taken the time to help me to understand I was ‘normal’ and it was the hormonal changes going on in my body that made me feel the way I did.

I booked six session with Joan we covered so many topics I lost count but mostly it was having someone who had the time to listen to me and help me find answers to the questions I did not seem to be able to sort out on my own. I still see Joan regularly for checks on the nutrition she suggested and to keep my body balanced. I know when it is time to make another appointment now as I have learnt to listen to my body.

I left the doctor having been advised that my blood pressure was too high as was my cholesterol and I was at risk of diabetes. I had seen a kinesiologist some years ago so Ichecked with a recognised association and found Joan who lived very close to me. Within a month I had changed my diet and had many imbalances corrected with Kinesiology. When I returned for a check up my blood pressure was normal and my cholesterol levels had improved.

Years of yo yo dieting had left me with depression and the feeling I was all alone with my dilemma. After talking to a friend I decided to try the holistic approach to see if this helped me lose weight. Joan checked with muscle testing to see what she could do to help. This covered amino acids, vitamins, minerals, whether my stomach acid was too low and something called an IC valve correction, not to mention numerous other checks like hormone imbalances, digestive enzymes, candida and heavy metal toxicity.

It was by no means a quick fix but eventually I turned a corner and started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I could not have done this all on my own. I have lost 2 stone and believe this time I will reach my target weight.
