Asking the body what it wants and needs

The word 'kinesiology' comes from the Greek work kineses, which means motion. In the medical sciences it is the name given to the study of muscles and the movement of the body. Kinesiology is a system of diagnosis and treatment that asks the body what it wants by combining muscle testing with the principles of Chinese medicine, to assess energy and body function, using a range of gentle yet powerful techniques.

There are a number of different ways of using muscle testing in assessment - as a series of specific muscles tests, to find out how well the body is functioning in all aspects - structural, chemical and emotional, and with an indicator muscle test, which uses a single muscle to get a non-verbal response to a stimulus This holistic therapy treats the person as a whole. Working with the mind and emotions as well as the body, to improve a person’s well-being.

  • It can help change attitude, belief systems and behaviour.
  • It can improve co-ordination, reading, writing, sports performance and artistic skills.
  • It can help detect food intolerances, nutritional needs, allergies and addictions.

Kinesiolgy is not a panacea but it does offer a very precise way of assessing and correcting imbalances Kinesiology is a wide and in-depth subject.
